Sioux City Reads Poetry Contest
We want to know how this book impacted you – through poetry! Write an original poem, no longer than one page, inspired by the 2025 Sioux City Reads title, Unmask Alice. Submit your poem by Friday, March 14 in-person at any Library location or on the Library's website.

Unmask Alice is a true story of contagious deception. It’s the story of a doomed romance and a vengeful celebrity. Of a lazy press and a public mob. Of two suicidal teenagers, and their exploitation by a literary vampire.
Sioux City Reads: Community Window Mural at the Downtown Library
Add a thought or doodle to our window mural in the Atrium at the Aalfs Downtown Library. Inspired by this year's Sioux City Reads selection, Unmask Alice by Rick Emerson, the book reveals that Go Ask Alice, a sensationalized diary chronicling a teenage girl's struggle with drug addiction, was, in fact, a fabrication.
